Monitor broadcast quality, report faults and instantly review the impact of detected errors for true end-to-end visibility
Monitor is a comprehensive application that records and analyzes video quality, compliance, ad delivery and proof of performance.
New outlets for distribution have added opportunities for revenue generation, causing content owners and distributors to deal with complex new delivery infrastructures while ensuring the integrity and quality of content. The Monitor application provides the ability to monitor linear broadcasting channels and over-the-top (OTT) through the full delivery chain.
Benefits of Monitor
Stay on top of your experience
Monitor broadcast quality, report faults, respond to issues and use full recording to instantly review the impact of detected errors. Monitor will alert you and record any quality impairments, such as black screen or static screen, silent audio, missing closed captions and issues with SCTE triggers.
Path Monitoring for OTT services
Path Monitoring for OTT services can monitor, log and record one or more post CDN HLS renditions for historical review and comparison of content all in the same interface. You can now have complete visibility into both the beginning and the end of your OTT delivery chain, as well as record a video affidavit of what went “to air” on OTT.
Multiviewer enables you to watch multiple live streams within a Network Operations Center or desktop, enabling easy inspection or content troubleshooting. It combines the benefits of a live multiviewer with instant look-back capabilities into past aired content, enabling you to instantly review and isolate faults on particular channels.
Monitor from anywhere, anytime
Monitor offers scalable 24 x 7 recording and remote broadcast monitoring to operate on a global WAN.
Enhance quality of service
Our Transport Stream Analysis (TSA) module enables broadcasters, MSOs (multi-system operators) and MVPDs (multichannel video programming distributor) to monitor and analyze their digital broadcasts in real-time and at various points across their distribution chain using ASI, IP, QAM and 8VSB input interfaces according to the industry-standard TR 101 290 specification.
More key advantages
Choose what modules meet your specific needs:
Easily perform loudness tasks, such as monitoring and compliance verification. By adding BS-1770-2, EBU R128 and ATSC A/85 compliant loudness monitoring into the logger, operators now have unparalleled loudness management tools that combine frame-accurate loudness measurement, A/V recording of content, integration with automation/ad system as-run logs, loudness reporting and graphing and alarming.
Quality of experience
Quality of experience analyzes logged content continuously for a variety of signal faults. With flexible, individually settable alert thresholds, notifications are delivered via email or SNMP traps. The quality measurement thresholds are configured per channel to optimize performance and error reporting.
Multiviewer enables users to watch multiple live or recorded programs on a network wall and use the desktop interface to inspect or troubleshoot a suspect stream without delay. It captures and stores content from any source and enables users to review that content in real time, from anywhere and at any time, for applications ranging from compliance, quality assurance and competitive analysis to production and repurposing for multiple platforms and social media outlets.
This module enables the monitoring, logging and frame-accurate display of content, along with the metadata and in/out point markers needed to determine if DPI messages are conveyed properly. DPI monitoring eliminates the need to measure streams with an in-depth Transport Stream Analysis and to calculate the frame in which the insertion occurs. With this module, non-technical staff can monitor and troubleshoot the broadcast signal to ensure that ads are inserted correctly.
Monitoring DVB subtitles, decoding, recording and playback are capabilities that broadcasters need to ensure proper execution and compliance with regulations. Alerts on missing DVB subtitles ensure full proof of conformance.
Active directory integration
Active directory integration allows users to log in a single time on the active directory server, thereby eliminating the need for multiple logins across multiple servers. Once logged into the active directory server, the user is logged in with the same credentials set by the administrator. By integrating RPM into the active directory domain, a transparent user login and pre-assigned user privileges are enabled.
Our Multicast module, either the high-quality original or a lower-resolution proxy version of the live stream, supports confidence monitoring applications, providing executives with remote visibility into the Network Operations Center (NOC) environment. It also supports enterprise-wide IPTV systems, pairing with set-top boxes to enable the scaling of our systems across the enterprise WAN and provisioning of content to a large number of users.
Embedded AC3 audio
This module eliminates not only the cumbersome and expensive task of extracting AC3 audio, de-embedding, decoding externally and re-embedding it back as PCM audio, but also the need for additional equipment and cabling. We save time and money by natively processing AC3 audio without the need for an external AC3 decoder and re-embedder.
As-run log integration
Integrate with an existing automation system with the content verification module. Users can look up logged content according to program name, media ID or other data from the as-run log. Automatic importation of common as-run logs simplifies finding content for ad verification and compliance purposes.
