New products webinar | OTT Innovation Showcase
Even though we won’t be seeing you at NAB this year, we invite you to learn about our latest products and features at our OTT Innovation Showcase. Join us for a special 90-minute webinar on Thursday, May 7, to get up to speed on new capabilities that can help you deliver innovative experiences.
During the showcase we’ll demonstrate how to get more control, expand distribution, and enhance the reliability of your video streams with the following new features and capabilities.
- New feature: Control
Control is a new feature of the Streaming Media Platform that includes the following capabilities:
- Channel scheduler UI and APIs
Program the playout of your live and VOD assets on channels without the need for traditional broadcast infrastructure and equipment.
- Syndication Publishing
Expand the reach of your content. Syndication Publishing gives you the power to publish live or virtual linear content to the most popular social media platforms to open up new revenue opportunities.
- Integrated clipping
Editors are now able to generate “Quick Clips” making it easier to get content highlights and promos in front of viewers as quickly as possible, without the need to transcode, and with lower costs. Editors can also take advantage of the new “Draft Clips” feature, enabling automated clip generation via a new interface that provides the ability to create clips in bulk based on known in/out points.
- Live Events Tool update
The new Live Event Markers feature enables operators to enrich their stream with metadata, which enables them to design interactive features such as screen overlays and extract targeted analytics.
- Enhanced capability: Stream Routing (multi-CDN)
Automated, mid-session switching across CDNs allows for a TV-like experience without the need for viewers to refresh the session, and usage-based decisioning across different CDN distribution profiles allows for cost and contract optimizations.
- New capability: Smartplay Prebid
Seamlessly integrated into Smartplay technology, Prebid enables demand partners to bid on ad space simultaneously, then have those bids evaluated by their primary ad servers alongside other ad buys. This results in fair market competition that increases yield by driving higher eCPMs and fill-rates.
- New capability: Ad Data and Ad Analytics
Our platform exposes massive amounts of granular data that empowers streaming customers to investigate ad experiences. Ad Data helps technical teams troubleshoot and monitor the ad insertion process. Ad Analytics, a new offering available in the Fall of 2020, helps inform business decisions with ad delivery reports.
We never stop working to help your business achieve its goals. Here are some of our recent developments.
- New capability: Report Builder
Knowledge is power. With Report Builder, you can automatically schedule and email custom reports, providing timely insights that enable you to make faster, better decisions.

- Enhanced capability: Real-Time Log Delivery
Logs, delivered in 60 seconds or less, sent to your web server or your favorite data analytics platform can now be sent via multiple profiles that you create. You can now also have parts of logs delivered to different destinations.
- New capability: WebSockets
We are now supporting the WebSockets protocol across our entire network. WebSockets are perfect for chat applications, financial services apps, and multiplayer online gaming that can benefit from bidirectional communications and lower latency than HTTP.
Keeping up with viewer demand for media content requires ongoing effort. Check out “Why network capacity isn’t enough: Caching strategies for better streaming,” to learn how we’ve upgraded our network and added modern caching strategies to meet user demand.
