How it works

A description of each criterion, along with notes on potential pitfalls to watch for, is included in our Choosing the Right Content Delivery Network for Your Business white paper. As you better understand each criterion, please evaluate its importance to your business using the table and enter the appropriate value in the “Rate Importance to You” column of the CDN Scorecard.

Importance to You” ratings are based on a scale of 0 to 2:
0 = Not Important, 1= Important, and 2 = Critical.

After identifying each criterion’s importance to you, the scorecard asks you to consider how well the CDN you’re evaluating meets each criterion. Enter the appropriate value in the “CDN Score” column.

Rate CDN” values are based on a scale of 0 to 2:
0 = Does not meet criteria, 1 = Partially meets criteria, and 2 = Meets criteria.

The scorecard will automatically calculate weighted scores and a total for the CDN you’re evaluating once you’ve finished entering your scores. You are able to compare up to three different CDNs at a time.

The Results

The maximum score a CDN can receive using this scorecard is 48. You can use this scorecard to compare CDNs and analyze which CDN will work best for your needs. Verizon consistently scores in the 90th percentile.
