NAB 2019 came and went in four non-stop days. One minute we were setting up our exhibit space, and the next we were packing it away. We hope we had a chance to connect with you at the show. Here’s a brief recap of what happened in our booth and beyond.
Our booth was home to meetings with technology professionals from across the broadcast and content creation industry. We shared demos and walk-throughs of our integrated platform, including how it simplifies your workflow, delivers exceptional streaming quality, and gets you to market quicker.
We hosted demonstrations of our Slicer encoding software; how our Smartplay technology delivers personalized experiences; our multi-CDN capabilities; and our process for capturing live data insights. We celebrated the announcement of our three new integration partners – THEOplayer, Iris.TV, and Microsoft Azure – with two demo stations inside our booth as well as a demo station in the Microsoft booth.
Attendees had a chance to hear our leaders speak throughout the show. On Monday, Mary Kay Evans, our chief marketing officer, was interviewed for the #GalsNGear podcast where she discussed the OTT industry and women in technology. That same day, Darren Lepke, head of video product management, was a panelist on “Best Practices for Video Packaging, Playback and Low-Latency Delivery,” a part of the Streaming Summit.
On Tuesday, Mary Kay was a panelist on “Equality & Diversity – All talk, No action?” The panelists discussed the benefits for companies who embrace diversity and foster inclusion and what is being done to accelerate the pace of equality.
Jason Friedlander, senior director of product marketing presented, “Delivering the Future of Media,” multiple times throughout the week at the Verizon Business both. On Wednesday, Jason joined Mike Ory, senior manager video and technical product marketing, to detail our partnership with Microsoft Azure in, “Where the Cloud Meets the Edge,” at the Microsoft booth.
The speaking engagements wrapped up with Ralf Jacob, president, participating in the NAB Show Live broadcast in an interview with technologist Steve Wong. Ralf discussed how Verizon Digital Media Services stays ahead of change as well as the biggest OTT announcements from the past few months, and how companies can overcome OTT challenges.
What’s a lot of hard work without a chance to let loose? On day 1 of NAB we took networking to a whole new level with our annual View From the Top event at Topgolf. We mixed the college basketball championship game with great food, drink, and golf to create NAB’s best party! Congratulations to the University of Virginia!
