Kyle Okamoto has served as Verizon Digital Media Services’ Chief Network Officer since 2014, overseeing the Network and Technology Operations. He is responsible for the global content delivery network and the Tier II and III operations and software development that support this network infrastructure, as well as the business development efforts within the network and service provider community.
Okamoto has worked for Verizon for too many years in several capacities, including global network operations, outside plant engineering, international marketing and product line management. His roles have spanned public IP, private IP, content delivery and digital media solutions in the U.S. and international markets. He has also been instrumental in the EdgeCast, UpLynk and Volicon acquisitions that currently form the foundation of Verizon Digital Media Services. Okamoto was one of the original employees of the Verizon Digital Media Services start-up and has held various leadership roles within Marketing, Product, and Technology prior to assuming the Chief Network Officer role.
Okamoto is on several Advisory Boards for technology and digital media companies and serves on the Executive Advisory Board for Asian Pacific Employees for eXcellence (APEX), an organization he led for over 6 years. He is also an angel investor for several stealth start-ups in the philanthropic and social enterprise spaces.
Okamoto graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and received an MBA from New York University. He spends his time in Los Angeles and New York.
